Make a statement with this solid item of Viking Jewellery featuring the Vegvisir and Valknut.
Vegvisir translates as "that which shows the way" or "way finder" from its original Icelandic.
Although there is no evidence to prove that Vegvisir was a symbol used by Vikings, it's nevertheless become one of the most common symbols associated with Norse Culture. It appears in the Icelandic Huld manucript as an Icelandic stave (a rune spell), amongst a range of other magic runes, spells and staves.
The Huld Manuscript carries the following description "If this sign is carried, one will never lose one’s way in storms or bad weather, even when the way is not known". The idea that the symbol will protect the wearer from getting lost and that it will help them find the way no doubt contributes to its popularity as a symbol on jewellery, clothing and tattoos.
